I caught myself saying something that I would not normally say. I said, “So this year is just a ‘wash’.” As soon as I said it, I realized that was a detrimental way of thinking. Did I really think that? No. But, does it really feel that way sometimes? Yes.

You see, this year is not lost, nor is it wasted. Although this year isn’t how anyone expected it or wants it to be, God is still working, and always has been. He never shut down. He never quit. He never stopped loving us. His love endures. His strength remains. His Spirit is still moving.

So then…What shall we do while we wait for the country to fully reopen?

While we wait, we rejoice.

‘Rejoice in what?’ you may ask. Rejoice in the joy of our salvation, rejoice in knowing the Lord still has a plan and His plan is good. In the book of Habakkuk, in the last chapter, he writes, “Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord.” That one verse stuck out to me. This was a man who trusted the Lord. This was a man who prayed during the waiting. This was a man who was willing to wait quietly for the justice of the Lord to come. He writes, “even though there are no grapes on the vines, even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, YET, I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD…”

So, I say to you, Livingway, even though the country looks like it is in chaos, even though things seem uncertain right now, even though the government can’t get its act together, YET, I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD!

Because as I have waited, I have watched, and I have seen the glory of the Lord. I saw men, women, and children be baptized in rivers, lakes, oceans, and even cattle water troughs as protesters surrounded them. They protested the move of God, but they could not stop it.  I saw men and women of God rise up and prophesy. I saw the church be THE CHURCH. And, I saw the love of God ministering to the hurting.

Just because the world is still in lockdown mode, doesn’t mean our God is. He’s been working the whole time and He hasn’t stopped. He is not willing that any should perish, so while the world is distracted, His Spirit is moving across the earth drawing men close unto Him. For those who have the eyes to see and the ears to hear what the Lord is doing, stay vigilant, and, while you wait, REJOICE.

Nothing can stop the move of God!

If you are waiting for your miracle, your answer, your breakthrough, remember to rejoice while you wait.

God’s not through with you!

While we wait, we rejoice!

While we wait, we pray!

While we wait, we serve!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” Habakkuk 3:19
