I just saw that what we call The Christmas Star will be visible for the first time in 800 years and that got me thinking about the three wise men. In the Bible, both Matthew and Luke give the account of three wise men hearing the Good News about Jesus and traveling from the east to meet Him to do nothing more than to worship Him and offer Him gifts. This is what I believe it means to be a true worshiper, to go before the Lord with no agenda except to worship Him for who He is.

Matthew 2: 9-11 (NKJV) When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.  And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The year of 2020 has been unprecedented. No one has ever experienced a year like this one, until now. Biblical prophecies are truly unfolding before our very eyes and those with the ears to hear and the eyes to see can understand the hours in which we live. Everything about this year to me screams: seek Jesus, draw close to Him, and lean not to your own understanding.

My prayer for the church, as a whole, is that we may worship the Lord as the three wise men did – may we leave where we are comfortable, leave the old behind, and come before the Lord with all sincerity in spirit and in truth, worshiping Him from the most honest part of our hearts and souls, being genuine worshipers. While there may be a ban on public gatherings and an effort to stop the unity of worship by prohibiting coming together, we must come in one accord as the Body of Christ and worship the One and True Living God, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Where there is a will to worship, there is a way. There is nothing that can stop a true worshiper from worshiping.

John 4:23 (KJV) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I encourage you to keep singing songs of praise and keep worshiping the Everlasting Father because all of this, everything in this world, is under His authority. I choose to lean on Him and worship Him!

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6
