Sleep, oh yes, sweet sleep. I, like most people, love to sleep. The average American sleeps 6.9 hours per night. That means that we sleep almost 1/3 of our lives. If you live to be 90 years old, you will sleep almost 30 of those years.
Physical sleep is necessary as long as we live on this earth, but spiritual sleep is your enemy. We can never get to the place where we are sleeping when we are supposed to be working on our Father’s business (Luke 2:49).
We fall asleep for many reasons: We are too tired, we are too comfortable, we are depressed and many other reasons, but the time is now when we have to shake ourselves awake. There is a GIANT of power in you, there is a GIANT of anointing in you, there is a GIANT of faith in you! Your family needs you, your friends need you, your coworkers need you, your church needs you, your generation needs you, the world needs you!
Keep yourself stirred up and awake! Jesus had to wake up Peter in Gethsemane so that he could pray. God is anxiously awaiting for His people, His church, to wake up and rise up and take our rightful place of authority!
The easiest giant to kill is a sleeping giant and we have been sleeping too long.
Wake up and stay up!!!
Everyone can do positive things sometimes, but it takes a special kind of person to do those positive things consistently! One of the key words of the Book of Acts is 'DAILY'! Acts 2:46 "... they, continuing DAILY with one accord in the temple ...". Acts 5:42 "... DAILY in the temple, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." In Acts 17:11, they searched the Scriptures DAILY! Every day!! I know that there are days when it is simply not convenient to walk out our purpose on this earth and fully perform the things of God! Our flesh does not want to cooperate! But determination to make our personal communion with God a DAILY thing will cause us to crucify our flesh so that we might fulfill the will of God in our lives! Develop a spiritual routine that occurs every day! Make the things of God a habit in your life! Let His name be the first name you speak every day! Make your relationship with Him a daily extravaganza!
JESUS IS ALIVE! What a powerful three-word exclamation!! And these three words change everything! If Jesus had not risen from the dead, we would have no hope ... no salvation ... no future! But because He lives, we have life and it more abundantly! Because He lives, we have peace that passes understanding! Because He lives, we have joy unspeakable! Because He lives, we have hope and the promise of a bright future! Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for us! Thank You, Jesus, because You descended to hell and took the keys to death, hell and the grave! But, most of all, thank You, Jesus, because You got up! You arose! You defeated death! And You did it for me!! HALLELUJAH! JESUS IS ALIVE!
