As I sat down to eat a quick lunch with my family, we began to have our usual lighthearted conversation, but we soon drifted to current events, and in 2021, there is no shortage of topics. We discussed all the things going on in the world, many of them dark and scary, and my husband and I answered our teenagers’ questions as best as we could, and right in the middle, we reminded them, “But we have this hope…”

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,  where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf…

 Hebrews 6:19-20

We must cling to this hope now more than ever, to hold fast to His truth and His righteousness. Jesus is our hope, the anchor to our storm-tossed souls. We may have questions, but may we always find the answer in Him. He has not abandoned us. No, He has not forsaken us. He walks with us and His rod and staff comfort us. We are not alone, for He is with us through the chaos of life. Trials and tribulations will come. He told us they would. But He also told us, “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”

Cling to this hope.

Hope is a weapon against the evil in this day. Hope is a weapon against tyranny and destruction. Hope is a weapon against fear.

Hope is a weapon they cannot take away.

Hope is a weapon, wield it fervently.

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. Pray for the innocent. Pray for the lost and hurting. Pray for the Lord to bring justice to the injustice in this world that only He can bring. Pray for those less fortunate. Pray for those who persecute you. Pray for endurance.

Just pray. Seek the face of the Lord and the power of His might.

This fight is not over, but we have this hope…

My dear friends, Jesus will come again and make every wrong right, but He is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, so pray and hold on to hope while you wait.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

Praying for all who read this, we have this hope…

Blessings,

Mandy Fender
